About farewell card:
This farewell card is designed for my college seniors. Elements such as a door, stairs, and cosmos represent the new beginning of their future, which will bring them to another fascinating world. Lenses effect, depending on the way we see it, can either magnify or shrink objects. Just like the uncertainty when we step into the next phase of our life: Sometimes we underestimate our abilities; sometimes we are not sophisticated enough. Here's another implication of lenses in the movie Youth (2015), conveying the idea of past and future:
Mick Boyle: [as he shows his protégé the distant Alps through a telescope] You see that mountain over there? Everything seems really close. That's the future. And now...
[as he flips the telescope around so it's in fish eye lens]
Mick Boyle: ... everything seems really far away. That's the past.
